John Cunningham Endorses Question 1

Congressional candidate John Cunningham spoke at the Rally to End the Income Tax in Massachusetts on Saturday and officially endorsed Ballot Question 1.

Boston, MA – In Faneuil Hall on Saturday, congressional candidate John Cunningham spoke at the Rally to End the Income Tax in Massachusetts and officially endorsed MA Ballot Question 1.

“Voting for Question 1 is one of the most important choices we will face in the voting booth this year,” according to Cunningham. “It will eliminate the State Income Tax and allow taxpayers, on average, to keep $3,700 more of their own money. It will be a boon to the state and the economy, and force the state government to cut waste.”

Despite the fact that the ballot question is a state issue, Cunningham still feels “a great desire” to give it his support. “Ballot Question 1 will fundamentally change the way our state government works,” Cunningham explained.

The historical importance of the event was not lost on Mr. Cunningham. Commenting afterwards, Cunningham explained, “We are continuing today in the great tradition of ‘anti-tax rallies’ held here in Faneuil Hall. We take courage from the example of Samuel Adams who also spoke out here against unjust taxation.”

During John’s speech at the rally he focused on the troubled economy and how, as a single parent, he worries about his son who just graduated from college: “I just want the government to let him keep the money he earns, and let him have the pride of making it on his own.”

John Cunningham concluded his remarks with his endorsement: “I am going to vote yes on question 1… will you please do the same?”
